Men's Brushed Wedding Band with Polished Groove – 5mm 14K Gold
A brushed gold band with one bright line cut through it. The satin surface keeps your ring quiet and modern, and a single polished groove runs all the way around, catching light every time your hand moves. Five millimeters wide, comfort fit, solid 14K yellow, white or rose gold, milled from solid tube on my bench in Woodside, Queens.
Why a brushed band with a polished groove?
A fully brushed band can look flat in photos and in person; a fully polished one shows every scratch. This design takes the best of both. The brushed finish is laid down in one direction around the ring, a soft satin that hides daily wear, and the polished groove gives it one sharp, mirror-bright detail. That contrast is what makes a plain band look designed. From across a room it reads as simple gold; up close the groove is what people notice.
How wide and thick is it?
Your band is 5mm wide and about 1.6mm thick, with softly rounded edges and a comfort-fit interior that is gently domed and polished smooth, so it slides over the knuckle easily and has no hard inside edge. Five millimeters is the classic men's width: substantial enough to look like a real wedding band, slim enough for smaller hands, for men who have never worn a ring, and for anyone who works with his hands. It is solid 14K gold throughout, never hollow, never plated.
Why milled instead of cast?
Your band starts as a solid tube of extruded 14K gold, metal that has already been compressed and worked, and I mill the profile and the groove out of it rather than pouring gold into a mold. That gives you dense metal with no casting porosity, so the groove comes out crisp and clean and the brushed finish lies evenly, with no tiny pits showing through later.
Will the brushed finish wear?
A brushed finish softens with wear, and the marks daily life adds blend into the satin lines instead of standing out. The polished groove sits recessed in the band, so it is protected from most knocks and stays bright. When you want the band back to new, send it to me and I will rebrush the surface and repolish the groove by hand.
Yellow, white or rose gold?
Yellow gold gives the brushed surface a soft, warm glow with the groove flashing bright inside it. White gold turns the band cool and clean, the most modern look. Rose gold warms the satin into a muted copper tone and pairs well with a rose or yellow engagement ring. All three are solid 14K and priced the same.
Same family, different width or finish
Want it wider? The 6mm grooved sandblasted band adds a frosted center between brushed rails, and the 7mm ice finish grooved band goes bolder with a hand-cut ice texture. For a brushed band with no groove, see the 5mm flat satin band or the 6mm brushed band. Browse every men's wedding band in the catalog.
How long does it take, and what if it does not fit?
Your band is made to order in 7 to 10 business days, in US sizes 8.5 through 13 including halves; ask if you need a size outside that range. Resizing is complimentary within 60 days of delivery, craftsmanship carries a lifetime warranty, and you have 14 days to return it if it is not right and has not been engraved. It ships fully insured in our signature suede pouch.
Who makes it?
I do. I started in 2016 at a family wedding band workshop in Long Island City, and bands are still the heart of what I make. Your ring is milled from solid tube, then brushed and finished by hand after you order it, in my workshop in Woodside, Queens.
