About Black Pearl of Queens
Handcrafted fine jewelry in solid 14K gold and platinum. Made to order in our Woodside, Queens workshop.
Black Pearl of Queens is a fine jewelry atelier in Woodside, Queens. Every piece we make is built by hand in solid 14K gold or platinum — never plated, never hollow. We don't carry inventory. Each ring, pendant, and pair of earrings is made to order, which means the work begins after you place yours.
Our flagship is the Brownstone Collection — pieces set with natural cognac and champagne diamonds in a proprietary 14K brown gold alloy. Everywhere else in our catalog, we work with lab-grown diamonds and naturally occurring colored gemstones. Read about how we source and grade our stones.

The Person Behind the Work
I'm Dimitrios Koukoulis. I started in jewelry in 2016 at a New York wedding band manufacturer, learning the bench from people who'd been at it for decades. I trained formally at Studio Jewelers in Manhattan, then founded Black Pearl of Queens in 2023 to do the work the way I thought it should be done — solid metal, real stones, made by hand, by someone who would put their name on it.
I'm based in Queens. The workshop is in Woodside. The pieces you see on this site are made here, by me, with the help of the small team I've built around the work. Nothing is outsourced, nothing is drop-shipped, and nothing leaves the bench unless I'd be willing to wear it myself.
The Workshop in Woodside
Woodside is a working neighborhood in Queens. People from every part of the world live within walking distance of each other. It's the right place to make jewelry that doesn't belong to a single tradition.
The workshop is small, deliberately. Every piece passes through the same hands from raw casting to final polish — wax model, lost-wax casting, filing and shaping, stone setting, finishing. Nothing is rushed because nothing has to be: we work made-to-order, so there's no warehouse waiting to be moved.
The Brownstone Collection
The Brownstone Collection is our flagship. Every piece is set with natural cognac or champagne diamonds — earth-formed fancy-color stones in warm amber and golden tones — paired with our proprietary 14K brown gold alloy.
Brownstone is the only line in our catalog that features natural diamonds. Everywhere else, we work with lab-grown stones. Read the full guide to cognac and champagne diamonds →
Made to Order, By Hand
We don't keep inventory. When you order a ring or a pendant, that's when we start making it.
Production typically takes 2–4 weeks depending on complexity — longer for engagement rings with center stones, shorter for plain bands. We use this time to do the work properly: cast the metal, set the stones, finish the surface, inspect the piece. Nothing leaves the workshop until it's ready.
If you need a piece by a specific date, tell us when you order. We'll let you know what's possible.
What We Stand For
Solid metal, always. Every piece is solid 14K gold or platinum. Never plated, never hollow, never filled. The weight in your hand is the weight you're buying.
Real stones, properly graded. Diamonds at or above 1 carat come with independent IGI grading certificates. We tell you what's natural and what's lab-grown, in plain language.
Handmade in Queens. The work happens here. No outsourcing, no drop-shipping. The person who makes your piece is the person who'd repair it.
Made to order. We start your piece after you order it. That's why we can offer customization, why every stone is matched to the specific piece it's going into, and why we don't have to apologize for what's sitting in a back room.
Built to last. Every piece is backed by our lifetime manufacturing warranty. If anything fails because of how we built it, we fix it.
Have a Question? Ask Directly.
Custom design, sizing, specific stones, lead times, anything else — message us. The person reading the message is the person making the piece.
