Every halo ring below is made to order in my Queens workshop in solid 14K gold, with platinum on request. A halo adds roughly 2 to 3mm of spread around your center stone, so a 1ct round at 6.5mm can read closer to 9mm across. I build it to your size in 7–10 business days.

A single row of pavé adds roughly 2 to 3mm to the total width across the top of the ring. A 1ct round at 6.5mm can read closer to 9mm across, which is about the spread of a much larger stone. It is the most effective way to add visual size without adding carat weight.
A halo frames the center stone face-up, so it adds visible size from above. A hidden halo sits underneath the stone, invisible from above and visible only from the side, so the ring reads as a clean solitaire with a flash of extra sparkle when you turn your hand. Choose a halo for spread, a hidden halo for subtlety.
Set properly, yes. Each stone is held by shared beads of gold raised from the metal around it. The risk comes from hard knocks and from resizing too many sizes at once, not from normal wear. Bring it in for a check once a year, and any workmanship issue is covered by the lifetime warranty.
Round and cushion are the classic halo shapes, because the frame follows a soft outline. Oval and pear halos add length on top of spread, which makes them the most dramatic on the hand. Any shape works, since I draw every halo to the exact outline of your stone.
Often not flush, because the halo sits wider than the band. A curved or notched band closes the gap, or I can build the halo low enough to clear a straight band. Both rings are made to order, so I design them as a pair from the start.
The heavy, chunky halos of the 2010s have dated. A fine micro-pavé halo on a thin band reads modern and delicate, and it still does the one thing halos do best: make your center stone look bigger than it is.
