4mm Polished Hammered Wedding Band in Solid 14K Gold
Hand-hammered facets taken to a full mirror polish, cast in solid 14K gold at a 4mm width. Where a satin hammer reads quiet and matte, a polished hammer does the opposite: every struck facet becomes its own small mirror, so the band throws light in a dozen directions as the hand moves. It is the most alive surface we make without setting a single stone. Made to order in our Woodside, Queens workshop.
The Polished Hammer Finish
The facets are struck by hand across the face of the band, then the whole surface is polished to a high shine rather than brushed down. That polish is what changes the character entirely. On a flat polished band, light returns as one flat sheet; on a polished hammer, each facet sits at a slightly different angle and catches independently, so the ring flickers as you move. It reads bright and lively across a room, and up close the irregular facet pattern makes it obvious the surface was struck rather than stamped.
Choosing Between Polished and Satin
We make this same hammered texture in a satin finish, and the choice is a real one. Polished gives you maximum brilliance and a dressier, more traditional gold look, but a mirror surface will show fine scratches as it wears and wants an occasional polish to bring it back. Satin trades that brightness for a matte surface that absorbs marks into the grain. If you want the ring to catch the eye, choose polished. If you work with your hands and never want to think about it, choose satin.
The Profile and Fit
At 4mm this is the slimmest of the traditional men's widths — enough to read clearly as a wedding band, light enough to disappear into daily wear inside a week. The interior is comfort-fit, gently domed rather than flat, so it clears the knuckle cleanly and sits without pressure points across a long day.
Choosing Your Metal
Yellow gold makes the polished facets warmest and brightest — the most classic and the most eye-catching version of this band. White gold turns the same play of light cooler and sharper, closer to cut crystal. Rose gold sits between them with a softer warmth. Each band is cast in the metal you choose, solid throughout — never plated, never gold-filled.
Made to Order in Queens
We hold no inventory. When your order arrives, this band is cast in your size and your metal, then hammered and polished by hand at our bench in Woodside. Production runs two to three weeks before it ships free and fully insured. Every piece carries a lifetime warranty on workmanship and free resizing, and non-engraved bands can be returned within fourteen days.
A Width or Finish We Don't List
If you want this polished hammer at a wider profile, or a slimmer matching band for a partner, write to me. I make these one at a time — the width is a decision, not a limitation.
