Product Description

Emerald Cut Diamond Wedding Band

The band your emerald cut engagement ring has been waiting for. Step-cut Lab-Grown Diamonds sitting shoulder to shoulder in solid 14K gold, flat-topped so they meet a step cut without a gap. Three weights, and the difference between them is width rather than coverage.

Three weights, same reach

The 1.8ct carries eleven stones at 4mm by 2.5mm on a band roughly 4mm wide. The 1.65ct carries eleven stones at 3.5mm by 2.5mm, on a band roughly 3.5mm wide. The 1.1ct carries fourteen stones at 3mm by 2mm, on a band roughly 3mm wide. All three cover close to the same length of finger, around 28mm, so what changes as you move down the range is how far the diamonds reach across the band, not how far around it.

Where the 1.65ct sits

Worth knowing before you choose: the 1.65ct is only a sixth of a carat lighter than the 1.8ct and carries the same eleven stones over the same span. The whole difference is half a millimetre of width. If 4mm reads wide on your hand, or if your engagement ring already has presence, this is the one that gives you everything the 1.8ct does on a slimmer profile.

What you are getting

Shared-prong set emerald cut Lab-Grown Diamonds across the front half of a solid 14K yellow, white or rose gold band. Solid throughout, never plated or hollow. Individual stones sit well under a carat at every weight, so they are not sold with lab reports — I select them face-up at the bench for clarity and match them for colour across the row.

Why rectangles beat rounds here

Round stones leave gaps between them no matter how tightly they are set. Emerald cuts do not — they tile against each other edge to edge, so the row reads as one continuous line of light rather than a run of separate diamonds. It is the reason a step-cut band looks like more diamond than a round band of the same carat weight.

Why they are harder to set in a row

A round stone can rotate in its seat and nobody notices. A rectangle cannot. Every stone has to sit square to its neighbours and level across the top, or the line reads crooked at a glance. The shared prongs also have to land exactly on the join between stones, which is what keeps the metal from interrupting the run of diamond. More stones means more chances to be a fraction out, which is why the 1.1ct takes longer at the bench than the 1.8ct despite carrying less weight.

Matched for colour

Step cuts show their colour more openly than brilliants do, because the facets act as windows rather than scattering light. One warmer stone in the row is visible immediately. I match the whole set before any of it goes into the band.

Choosing a width

At 4mm the 1.8ct is a statement band that holds its own beside a solitaire or worn alone. The 1.65ct at 3.5mm pairs with most engagement rings without competing. The 1.1ct at 3mm is the stacking weight — fine enough to sit under a solitaire or between two plain bands. If your engagement ring has a cathedral shoulder or a raised basket, tell me when you order and I will contour the band to follow it.

Why half rather than full

Stones across the front and plain metal at the back gives you two things a full eternity cannot: the band can be resized later, and the smooth underside sits more comfortably against the neighbouring fingers through a long day.
