Marquise Three-Stone Engagement Ring
A 1 carat marquise Lab-Grown Diamond with a round brilliant on either side. The marquise covers more finger than any other cut at the same weight, and the two small rounds carry that line further without ever competing with it. On your hand it reads as one long, deliberate shape.
What arrives in the box
Your center stone is a 1.00ct marquise brilliant Lab-Grown Diamond, D–F color, VS+ clarity, IGI certified — the report comes with it. Two round brilliant side stones of 0.10ct each bring you to 1.20ctw. The center sits in a six-prong head with round prongs throughout, two of them on the points; the sides in three-prong settings. Solid 14K yellow, white or rose gold, or platinum, on a 2mm comfort-fit shank, cut to your size between 4 and 9 including halves.
Why your side stones are small on purpose
A 1ct marquise runs roughly 10mm by 5mm. It is already the longest shape you can wear at this weight. Bigger side stones would push it past what most hands carry comfortably and turn your elegant line into a bar across the finger. At 0.10ct each, your rounds sit at about 3mm — enough to extend the composition and give the eye somewhere to travel, not enough to add width you did not ask for. On a marquise, restraint in the sides is the design.
The two points, and how yours are held
A marquise has two tips and they are the part that chips. Yours are held by round prongs, two of the six sitting directly on the points. That keeps the profile clean and the outline uninterrupted, which is why the ring reads as one line rather than a stone with hardware attached. A V-prong wraps further round a tip than a round prong does — so if your hands take a beating at work, tell me before I start and I will cap your points instead. Yours is built after you order it, so that is a choice you get to make rather than a compromise you inherit.
How it will sit on your hand
Worn lengthwise the marquise draws the finger out, which is why it does the most for shorter fingers. The setting is low enough to live with every day rather than something you take off to do things. When you come to add a wedding band, a straight one will leave a small gap at the points — a contoured band follows your outline properly, and since I make both to order I can cut them as a pair so they meet cleanly from the first day.
If a marquise is not quite it
You may want the three-stone form without the length. The 2ct cushion with trillion sides is the softer, more substantial version of the same idea.
