A 2 carat cushion cut Lab-Grown Diamond flanked by two trillion-cut side stones that fan outward from the centre. The cushion's rounded corners against the trillions' hard points is the whole tension of the design — soft in the middle, angular either side.
Exactly what you are getting
The centre is a 2.00ct cushion brilliant Lab-Grown Diamond, D–F colour, VS1–VS2 clarity, IGI certified and supplied with its report. Two trillion-cut Lab-Grown Diamond side stones add 0.50ct across the pair, giving 2.50ctw total. Centre in a four-prong cushion head, sides in three-prong baskets. Solid 14K yellow, white or rose gold, or platinum, on a 2mm comfort-fit round shank. Sizes 4 to 9 including half sizes.
How large 2 carats reads on the hand
A 2ct cushion measures roughly 7.2mm by 6.9mm. With the trillions either side the whole setting spans close to 16mm across the finger — substantial, and worth knowing before you order. On a size 4 to 5 hand it will cover a noticeable proportion of the finger between knuckles. On a size 7 and up it sits in proportion. Why trillions rather than rounds
A trillion is a triangular brilliant, and it faces up wide for its weight — so 0.25ct per side delivers more spread than a round of the same weight would. Set with the flat edge toward the centre, the trillion's long side runs parallel to the cushion's, which is what makes the three stones read as one composition rather than a large stone with two smaller ones parked beside it.
Setting notes
Trillions have three points each, which is six vulnerable tips on one ring before you count the centre. Each sits in a three-prong basket with the prongs placed on the points rather than the flat edges, so the corners are covered rather than exposed. It is slower to set than a round-sided three-stone and it is the reason this design costs what it does.
Pairing it with a wedding band
The low-profile setting means a straight band sits reasonably flush, though the trillions' outer points sit slightly proud. A gently contoured band follows the outline better. Because both are made to order I can cut the pair to match, so tell me when you order rather than after.
