1.5mm Star-Set Lab-Grown Diamond Band in Solid 14K Gold
Twelve Lab-Grown Diamonds set flush into a 1.5mm rounded band, each one sunk level with the gold and framed by a small hand-cut star. No prongs rise above the surface. Run a finger over it and the ring is smooth — the diamonds are inside the metal rather than sitting on top of it. The result is a band that reads as a thin line of gold from a distance and reveals twelve points of light up close.
The Star Setting
Flush setting means the stone is dropped into a seat drilled in the metal and the gold is burnished over its edge to hold it. Here each seat is finished with four fine cuts radiating from the stone — the star — which catches light around the diamond and makes a small stone read considerably larger than its measurement. It is an old technique, common in Victorian and Edwardian work, and it takes longer than a prong or a bezel because every star is cut by hand after the stone is set.
Why Flush Set
Nothing protrudes, so nothing snags. A flush-set band does not catch on clothing, hair, gloves or a child's blanket, and there are no prongs to bend, wear down, or lose a stone from. It is the most secure way to set a diamond in a thin band, and the reason this style is worn by people who never take their rings off.
The Diamonds
Twelve round brilliant Lab-Grown Diamonds, 0.12ct total weight, spaced evenly around the full circumference. Lab-Grown Diamonds are physically, chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds — same hardness, same brilliance, grown in a controlled environment rather than pulled from the ground.
Wearing It
At 1.5mm this is the slimmest band we make. It stacks flat against an engagement ring without competing with it, sits comfortably alongside two or three other rings on the same finger, and works equally well worn alone on a second finger. It is the band most often chosen as a wedding ring by women whose engagement ring is already doing the talking, and as an anniversary or push-present band by those who want something they will never need to take off.
Choosing Your Metal
Yellow gold gives the strongest contrast between the warm metal and the white diamonds — the most classic read. White gold makes the stones disappear into the band so the whole ring reads as a single line of light. Rose gold warms the diamonds and suits the vintage character of star setting particularly well. Each band is cast in the metal you choose, solid throughout — never plated, never gold-filled.
