What milgrain does to a round

The round brilliant is the most modern-looking shape there is. Milgrain pulls it back a century. Jewelers in the early 1900s used beaded edges to soften the line of a band and outline every stone, and that single detail is what makes a ring from that era recognizable at a glance. Here it meets a contemporary stone on a contemporary profile, so the ring feels inherited without looking old.

Two kinds of light

Twenty-eight pavé diamonds, 0.24 carats in total, flash down the band. The milgrain glints, a finer, quieter shimmer from hundreds of tiny polished surfaces. Together they give the band a texture you can see even in dim light, where a plain pavé band would only look bright.

Does milgrain wear away?

Over years of daily wear the beads soften slightly, the way the edge of a well-carried coin does, and that softening is part of its character. When the ring comes back to my bench for resizing or a check-up, I can re-cut the milgrain and bring the edge back to crisp.
