Oval Flower Halo Engagement Ring
A 0.35 carat oval Lab-Grown Diamond set inside a halo shaped like petals rather than a plain ring of stones. The flower outline is the whole point — it softens the halo, gives the setting an Art Nouveau feel, and makes the centre stone read considerably larger than its weight.
Exactly what you are getting
The centre is a 0.35ct oval cut Lab-Grown Diamond. The petal halo surrounding it carries a further 0.35ct of brilliant-cut Lab-Grown Diamonds, giving 0.70ct total weight across the ring. The band is 2mm, polished, in solid 14K yellow, white or rose gold, or solid platinum. Nickel-free and solid throughout, never plated or hollow.
How large it actually looks on the hand
Worth being precise, because carat weight alone misleads people. A 0.35ct oval measures roughly 5mm by 4mm on its own — modest. Ringed by the petal halo, the whole setting reads closer to 9mm across, which is the face-up footprint of a stone around three times the weight. You are not buying a 0.7ct centre stone and I would not describe it that way, but you are buying the visual presence of one.
Why petals rather than a plain halo
A conventional halo packs small stones tightly into a continuous outline, so the eye reads one blurred larger shape. Here the surrounding stones are grouped into distinct petals with metal between them, so the flower stays legible as a form rather than dissolving into a border. It is the difference between a setting that borrows size and one that has a shape of its own.
Setting notes
Petal halos are fiddlier than round ones. Each petal has to sit level with its neighbours or the whole flower looks buckled, and the gaps between petals are where a careless setter leaves gold showing. I set this one petal at a time.
Why there is no lab report
Lab-Grown Diamonds under one carat are not sold with individual grading reports, so neither the centre nor the halo stones here arrive certified. What that means in practice is that I select the centre stone face-up at the bench for clarity and for how evenly it returns light, rather than buying to a specification sheet. If a lab report matters to you, the 1ct and larger ovals in the collection all carry IGI certification.
Living with a halo
More stones means more places for grime to collect, and the gaps between petals are tighter than a plain halo. It wants cleaning more often than a solitaire — warm water, a drop of dish soap, a soft toothbrush, then dry it properly. Left a year without attention it will read dull long before the gold does.
Pairing it with a wedding band
The halo sits low on a 2mm shank, so a straight band meets it without much of a gap. If you want them completely flush, tell me when you order and I will contour the band to follow the halo outline. Because both rings are made to order I can size them as a pair.
