The Draven Square Diamond Band is the most commanding piece in our collection — a 5.5mm solid 14K gold band set with 1.00 ctw of princess cut lab-grown diamonds, flush-set across the face of the band in a continuous, evenly spaced row. The princess cut is the most geometric of all diamond shapes: its perfectly square form and cross-facet pattern produce a brilliance that is angular, directional, and unmistakably modern. Flush-set into the surface of the gold, each stone sits perfectly level with the band — no prongs, no elevation, no vulnerability. The result is a band that is simultaneously the most diamond-forward and the most wearable piece we make: the stones are protected completely by the surrounding gold, yet they catch light from every angle with every movement of the hand.
The princess cut is the most modern diamond shape — and the most geometric. Its perfectly square form and cross-facet pattern produce a brilliance that is more angular and directional than a round brilliant, with flashes of light that move with the hand rather than radiating in all directions. In a flush setting on a wedding band, the princess cut's square form creates a clean, grid-like pattern across the face of the band — each stone a perfect square of light, evenly spaced, perfectly aligned. The flush setting — also called a gypsy or burnish setting — is the most protective diamond setting in fine jewelry. Each stone is set into a precisely drilled seat in the gold, then the surrounding metal is burnished over the girdle of the stone, locking it in place with no exposed prongs or elevated settings. The result is a band where the diamonds are completely protected by the surrounding gold, yet fully visible from above. Every other diamond band we considered had prongs — elevated settings that catch on fabric, loosen over time, and require regular maintenance. The Draven has none of that. Its princess cut diamonds are set flush into the gold, protected on all four sides, level with the surface, and completely secure. The beveled edges were added to give the band a sense of weight and presence without increasing the width — a subtle architectural detail that elevates the entire piece.
