2.25ct Asscher Cut Lab-Grown Diamond Half Eternity Band in Solid 14K Gold
A row of Asscher cut Lab-Grown Diamonds, 2.25 carats in total, set shoulder to shoulder across the top of a solid 14K gold band. Each stone sits in its own four-prong basket, square and upright, so the light comes straight up through those deep step-cut facets and the band reads as a line of clear, geometric windows instead of a blur of sparkle. Cast, set and polished by hand in my Woodside, Queens workshop.
What is an Asscher cut diamond?
An Asscher cut is a square step cut with deeply clipped corners, so each stone is technically an octagon. Instead of the scattered sparkle of a round brilliant, it shows a hall-of-mirrors pattern of concentric squares that draws the eye down into the stone. It was created in 1902 and became the signature cut of Art Deco jewelry, which is why an Asscher band looks both vintage and sharply modern at the same time.
Why choose a half eternity band over a full eternity band?
A half eternity band carries its diamonds across the top of the finger only, where they are seen, and leaves the underside as smooth solid gold. That means it can be resized later, it sits comfortably against neighboring fingers, and none of the stones are crushed against a desk or a steering wheel every day. On large stones like these it also keeps the price far below a full eternity band while showing exactly the same amount of diamond from the top.
How much diamond is in this band, and what quality is it?
The band carries 2.25 carats total weight of Asscher cut Lab-Grown Diamonds, graded D–F color and VS clarity. Step cuts like the Asscher hide nothing, so they demand clean, colorless material, and at this grade the open facets stay bright white in yellow, white or rose gold. Because each individual stone is under one carat, the diamonds arrive uncertified.
How is each diamond set?
Every Asscher sits in its own open basket held by four rounded prongs, one at each corner. The prongs protect the clipped corners, which are the most vulnerable point of any square stone, and the open gallery underneath lets light enter from the sides so each diamond stays brilliant. Viewed from the side, the row of baskets forms a clean, architectural profile that looks as good stacked as it does alone.
Does this band pair with an engagement ring?
Yes. It is the natural partner for an Asscher, emerald cut, princess or cushion engagement ring, where the step-cut facets echo the center stone. It also stands on its own as a statement anniversary band, a right-hand ring, or a push present. Worn with a round solitaire, the geometric contrast is deliberate and striking.
Which gold color should I choose?
Yellow gold frames each square stone in warm metal and gives the strongest Art Deco feel. White gold makes the prongs nearly disappear so the row of diamonds reads as one continuous strip of light. Rose gold softens the geometry with a warm glow that flatters warmer skin tones. Every option is solid 14K gold all the way through, never plated.
Can I wear it every day?
Yes. Diamonds are the hardest gemstone there is, and the four-prong baskets guard every corner. Take it off for the gym, heavy lifting and harsh cleaners, and have the prongs checked once a year, as with any prong-set ring. Clean it at home with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush. How is it made and when does it ship?
Nothing is pulled from a warehouse. Each band is built to order: designed in CAD, cast in solid 14K gold, then set, finished and polished at my bench in Woodside, Queens, by me, Dimitrios Koukoulis. It ships in 7–10 business days, fully insured, in a jewelry pouch. Sizes 4 through 9 are listed; other sizes are available on request.
