What the Satin Finish Does to a Knife-Edge
The faces are brushed by hand in a single direction, leaving a fine linear grain that diffuses light rather than mirroring it. On a polished knife-edge the two planes throw hard highlights and the geometry announces itself. Brushed, the same geometry is still entirely there — you read it in the soft tonal shift where one face meets the other — but it stops competing for attention. This is the version for a man who wants the shape without the shine.
The Practical Argument
There is a second reason to choose it. A knife-edge concentrates wear along the ridge, which is the highest point on the band and the first thing to meet a doorframe or a steering wheel. On a mirror finish those marks stand out against the polish. On satin they settle into the grain, so the ridge stays looking intentional rather than scuffed. Why 5mm
Width matters more on a knife-edge than on any other band we make. The whole effect depends on having two distinct faces, and a narrow band gives each one very little to work with. Fit and Comfort
The interior is comfort-fit, gently domed rather than flat, so the band clears the knuckle without dragging and sits without pressure points through a long day. The ridge itself is finished slightly rounded, not literally sharp, so it wears comfortably against a neighboring finger. Because the profile tapers rather than sitting flat, it reads lighter on the hand than 5mm suggests.

Production runs two to three weeks before it ships free and fully insured.
