Pavé Engagement Rings

Small Lab-Grown Diamonds set edge to edge along the band, so the whole ring catches light, not just the center stone.

Drawn Before It's Made

Every pavé band starts as a CAD model on my screen, with each seat spaced so the metal all but disappears between the stones. None of it comes from a catalog.

Set By Hand in New York

Pavé is set bead by bead under magnification. The gold between the stones is what holds them, so I leave enough of it for your ring to last decades.

Pavé Engagement Ring FAQ

What is a pavé engagement ring?

Pavé is French for paved. Small diamonds are set close together along the band and held by tiny beads of gold raised from the metal between them, so the surface looks covered in diamonds rather than dotted with them. It adds sparkle along the whole ring, not only at the center stone.

What is the difference between pavé and micro-pavé?

Stone size. Micro-pavé uses smaller diamonds, usually under about 1.3mm, set under higher magnification. More stones fit in the same space, so the band reads finer and more continuous. On a thin 1.5mm or 2mm band, micro-pavé is the only kind that fits.

Do the diamonds in a pavé band fall out?

Well-set pavé stones rarely come loose in normal wear. The real risks are hard knocks against stone or metal and resizing a ring too far. A yearly check at the bench catches a worn bead before a stone is lost, and workmanship is covered by the lifetime warranty.

Can a pavé engagement ring be resized?

Usually by up to about two sizes, because the pavé runs only across the top of the band and the resizing happens in the plain gold underneath. Resizing is complimentary within 60 days of delivery, so ordering the right size is the only thing that matters.

Should I choose half pavé or full pavé?

Half pavé covers the top of the band where it shows, which keeps it comfortable between your fingers and easy to resize. Full pavé runs all the way around for sparkle from every angle, at the cost of resizing flexibility. Most people choose half pavé.

Which wedding band goes with a pavé engagement ring?

A matching pavé band continues the sparkle across both rings, while a plain gold band sets it off by contrast. Both work. Because both rings are made to order, I match the width and the diamond size so the pair reads as one set.
