Oval Halo Engagement Ring
An oval already covers more finger than its carat weight suggests. Ring it with a halo and drop it onto a 1.7mm band, and the stone reads larger again — not because there is more diamond, but because there is almost no metal left to give the eye a sense of scale.
What you are getting
An oval cut Lab-Grown Diamond centre framed by a halo of round brilliant Lab-Grown Diamonds, on a 1.7mm band in solid 14K yellow, white or rose gold. Nickel-free, solid throughout, never plated. Sizes 4 through 9 including half sizes.
Why the halo works harder on an oval
A halo borrows size, and it borrows more on an elongated shape than a round one. Following the oval outline, the surrounding stones extend the length rather than just widening the circle, so the whole setting reads as one long shape instead of a stone sitting inside a ring of smaller stones. On a slim shank there is nothing beside it to argue with.
Why 1.7mm and not thinner
Thin bands trade metal for delicacy, and less metal means less resistance to bending over years of hard wear. 1.5mm is the slimmest I will build, because past that the structure stops being reliable. At 1.7mm this sits deliberately above that floor — it still reads as a thin band on the hand, but there is meaningfully more metal in the shank than in the thinnest rings on the market. If you want the delicate look without wearing the limit, this is the width to choose.
Keeping a halo clean
More stones means more places for grime to collect, and a halo on a slim shank has tight gaps underneath. It wants cleaning more often than a plain solitaire — warm water, a soft brush, nothing harsh. Left alone for a year it will read dull long before the metal does.
