Malba Marquise Solitaire — 1ct Lab-Grown Diamond

The marquise covers more finger per carat than any other cut. Long, pointed at both ends, widest at the centre — it makes a 1ct stone read closer to 1.5 and draws the hand out lengthwise. The Malba sets it plainly and gets everything else out of the way.

What you are getting

A 1.00ct marquise cut Lab-Grown Diamond, DEF colour, VS clarity, in a two-prong solitaire setting on a slim tapered band. Solid 14K yellow, white or rose gold, high-polish finish. Lab-Grown Diamonds of one carat and above are certified by IGI, so this arrives with its report.

The two-prong question

Two prongs show the marquise at its longest, because nothing interrupts the curve along the sides. The trade-off is that the tips are the fragile part of this cut and a two-prong setting leaves them less covered than V-prongs would. If you want the tips capped, ask when you order and I will build it that way — it shortens the visual line slightly but it is the more protective option.

How it wears

Worn alone the marquise commands the finger and needs nothing beside it. If you want a wedding band with it, a contoured or notched band follows the point better than a straight one. Tell me at the time of order and I will cut the pair to match.
