Cross-Hatched Textured Wedding Band in Solid 14K Gold
A tightly worked cross-hatch cut across the full face of the band, in solid 14K gold or platinum. Two sets of fine lines run at opposing angles, so the surface catches light from two directions at once and shifts as the hand moves. It is the most worked surface we make that still reads as a plain band — no stones, no ornament, just metal cut with intent. Handcrafted to order in our Woodside, Queens workshop.
The Cross-Hatch
The pattern is cut by hand, one direction at a time, then crossed. Because it is worked rather than stamped, no two bands come off the bench identical — the density and depth vary slightly across the surface in a way a machine finish never does. The texture is deliberately controlled: bold enough to be unmistakable at arm's length, fine enough that it never reads as rustic. Up close it is closer to engine-turning than to hammering.
Why Texture Wears Better
A cross-hatched surface is the most forgiving finish in gold. Where a polished band shows every scratch against an uninterrupted plane, a cut texture absorbs them into the pattern — the marks simply become part of a surface that is already worked. This is the band for a man who uses his hands and has no intention of protecting a ring from his own life.
Inside and Out
The exterior carries the full texture; the interior is polished completely smooth and comfort-fit, gently domed rather than flat, so nothing worked touches the finger. It clears the knuckle without dragging and sits without pressure points through a long day.
Choosing Your Metal
Yellow gold shows the cross-hatch most warmly and is the most traditional read. White gold turns the same cut cool and graphic — the sharpest, most industrial version of this design. Rose gold sits between them. Platinum is also available, and gives the texture a denser, heavier presence than any of the golds. Each band is cast in the metal you choose, solid throughout — never plated, never hollow.
Made to Order in Queens
We hold no inventory. When your order arrives, this band is cast in your size and your metal, then the cross-hatch is cut and the interior polished by hand at our bench in Woodside. Production runs two to three weeks before it ships free and fully insured. Every piece carries a lifetime warranty on workmanship and free resizing, and non-engraved bands can be returned within fourteen days.
A Width or Finish We Don't List
If you want this cross-hatch narrower, wider, or as a slimmer matching band for a partner, write to me. I cut these one at a time — the width is a decision, not a limitation. Call or text 929-806-1502, or email info@blackpearlofqueens.com.
