4mm Flat Satin Wedding Band in Solid 14K Gold
Straight edges, a flat face, and a brushed satin finish, cast in solid 14K gold at a 4mm width. Where a domed band curves and softens, a flat band holds its line — square, deliberate, architectural. The satin surface keeps it quiet, and keeps it from showing every mark it picks up. Made to order in our Woodside, Queens workshop.
The Flat Profile
A flat band is the most graphic shape in men's jewelry: the face sits level from edge to edge, the sides drop straight, and the whole ring reads as a clean band of metal rather than a curve. It looks wider than a domed band of the same measurement because the full 4mm faces outward, which is why flat is the choice for men who want visual presence without adding millimeters. It also engraves better than any other profile — the flat interior gives a date or a name a proper surface to sit on.
The Satin Finish
The face is brushed by hand in a single direction, leaving a fine linear grain that diffuses light instead of mirroring it. This matters more on a flat band than on any other shape: a polished flat face is the most unforgiving surface in jewelry, showing every scratch across an uninterrupted plane. Satin takes that away. Marks settle into the grain, and the band ages into itself rather than looking damaged.
Fit and Comfort
Flat bands have a reputation for feeling rigid, and that comes down to the interior, not the exterior. Ours is comfort-fit — the inside is gently domed so it rides over the knuckle and sits without a hard edge pressing into the finger. At 4mm it stays light on the hand, which makes it a straightforward first ring for a man who has never worn one, and a clean everyday band for one who has.
Choosing Your Metal
Yellow gold gives the flat face the warmest, most traditional read. White gold pushes it furthest toward the industrial — brushed steel in feel, solid gold in substance, and the sharpest version of this design. Rose gold sits between them with a quiet warmth. Each band is cast in the metal you choose, solid throughout — never plated, never gold-filled.
Made to Order in Queens
We hold no inventory. When your order arrives, this band is cast in your size and your metal, then squared, brushed and finished by hand at our bench in Woodside. Production runs two to three weeks before it ships free and fully insured. Every piece carries a lifetime warranty on workmanship and free resizing, and non-engraved bands can be returned within fourteen days.
A Width or Finish We Don't List
If you want this flat satin profile wider, or a slimmer matching band for a partner, write to me. I cut these one at a time — the width is a decision, not a limitation.
