A 1 carat princess cut Lab-Grown Diamond in a square full bezel. The princess cut's four corners are its weak point — thin, exposed, and the first thing to chip in a prong setting. A bezel wraps all four in gold, which is the only setting I will put a princess in for daily wear.

A 1.00ct princess cut Lab-Grown Diamond, F–G colour, VS1–VS2 clarity, full bezel set on a slim 1.8mm round shank with a high-polish finish. Solid 14K yellow, white or rose gold. Sizes 4 to 9 including half sizes. Certified by IGI and supplied with the report.

Square on square

The bezel here is squared to match the stone rather than rounded off, so the gold frame and the diamond share the same geometry. It is a harder setting to execute than a round bezel because each of the four corners has to turn cleanly at ninety degrees without the metal bunching, but it is the reason the ring reads as deliberate rather than approximate.

How it wears

Low, flat, nothing catching. The square outline sits flush against a straight wedding band with no gap, which makes it one of the easiest engagement rings to pair.
