Product Description

Marquise Signet Ring

A pointed oval face, 15mm long and 8mm across, cut with a pinwheel of curved rays radiating from the centre and framed in milgrain. Most marquise signets are sold blank and the engraving is an extra you pay for later. This one arrives finished.

What you are getting

A 15mm by 8mm marquise face with a hand-cut pinwheel motif and a beaded milgrain border, on a shank tapering from the shoulders to 3mm at the back. Solid 14K yellow, white or rose gold throughout, never plated or hollow. No stones.

The engraving is the whole piece

Each ray is cut into the metal rather than pressed in, and the cuts alternate between polished and matte faces so the pinwheel catches light in sequence as the hand turns. That contrast is what makes the motif read as movement rather than texture. It cannot be achieved by casting a pattern into the mould, and it is the reason this ring takes longer at the bench than a plain signet.

Why milgrain around the edge

A row of fine gold beads runs the full outline of the face. It does two things: it frames the engraving so the motif reads as a deliberate panel rather than decoration bleeding into the shoulders, and it softens the transition where the raised face meets the polished shank. Uneven beading shows immediately on a shape this narrow, so it is worked after the face is finished.

The 3mm shank

The band tapers from the wide shoulders down to 3mm at the back. That keeps the weight forward where you see it and off the underside of the finger, which is what stops a signet feeling heavy after a full day. It also means it sits comfortably between other fingers rather than pushing them apart.

Who wears it

The marquise shape sits lengthwise along the finger rather than across it, so it reads narrower than a round signet of the same area. That makes it work on a smaller hand as an everyday ring and on a larger hand as a pinky ring — the traditional signet position. It suits either.

Behind the Design

Every Signet Ring begins as a CAD design I create curve by curve to shape the perfect letter and ring profile.

From there, it’s cast in solid gold, then cleaned, shaped, and polished by hand to achieve a smooth, mirror-finished signet.
