What you are getting

A 1.00ct marquise cut Lab-Grown Diamond, IGI certified and supplied with its report, bezel-set east-west into a domed signet face measuring 6.8mm at its widest. Solid 14K yellow, white or rose gold, with the shank tapering to 3mm at the back. Solid throughout, never plated or hollow.

Why east-west

Set lengthwise, a marquise points up the finger and reads as an engagement ring. Turned across it, the same stone reads as a signet — the long axis follows the width of the face instead of the length of the hand. It is the orientation that lets a marquise sit in a signet at all, and it is why this piece works on people who would never wear a pointed solitaire.

Bezel, not prongs

The marquise has two tips and they are the part that chips. Prongs leave them proud of the setting; a bezel sinks them below the gold line entirely. Nothing catches on a pocket or a sleeve, nothing snags, and the tips are protected by metal on every side. On a ring this size that is not a style choice, it is the only responsible way to set the stone.

The dome and the 3mm shank

The face swells out of the shoulders rather than sitting on top of them, so there is no step where the setting meets the band. Weight stays forward where you see it and the shank tapers to 3mm at the back, which keeps a substantial ring from feeling heavy through a full day.

Who wears it

It reads as a men's signet on a larger hand and as a bold everyday ring on a smaller one. It also works as an unconventional engagement ring for someone who wants a full carat without a raised solitaire — the stone is protected enough to wear through actual work.
