2 Carat Marquise Three-Stone Engagement Ring
A 2ct marquise Lab-Grown Diamond running 13mm down your finger, with a round brilliant tucked against each side for 2.22ctw. At this size the side stones stop being a trio and become punctuation: your center does all the talking, and the rounds give it shoulders so the long outline never looks thin. D–F color, VS+ clarity, IGI certified, in solid 14K gold or platinum, made to order on my bench in Woodside, Queens.
What exactly are you getting at 2.22ctw?
Your center is a 2.00ct marquise brilliant Lab-Grown Diamond, roughly 13mm long by 6.5mm wide, D–F color and VS+ clarity, with its IGI report shipped alongside the ring. Two round brilliant side stones of about 0.11ct each, close to 3mm across, bring the total to 2.22ctw. The center sits in six round prongs, one seated directly over each point and two along each long side; each round is held in its own four-prong basket. All of it rides on a 2.5mm comfort-fit band, cut to your size from 4 through 9 including halves.
How big does a 2 carat marquise three-stone look on the hand?
Bigger than the number suggests. A 2ct round measures about 8.1mm across; your marquise covers 13mm of finger at the same weight, which is why people routinely guess it at three carats. Add the two rounds and the full head spans roughly 13mm along your finger and about 12 to 13mm across it, so the ring reads as a balanced cross of light rather than a single sliver. On a long, slender hand it looks elegant. On a petite hand, sizes 4 to 5, it will cover most of the space between your knuckles, and you should want that before you choose it.
Why are the side stones so small next to a 2ct center?
Because that ratio is the whole design. Many 2ct marquise three-stones on the market push the sides to a quarter carat or more each, landing near 2.75ctw, and the result is a wide bar that competes with its own center. Your rounds stay at about 0.11ct deliberately. They add sparkle at the shoulders and a little width where a long marquise can look narrow, but they never pull the eye away from the stone you are actually paying for. If you want three equal voices, this is the wrong ring; if you want one dramatic stone with a quiet frame, it is the right one.
2ct marquise three-stone or 2ct solitaire: which should you choose?
The 2ct marquise solitaire is the purer line: all length, nothing at the sides, the most minimal way to wear a 2ct Lab-Grown Diamond. The three-stone trades a little of that purity for presence. The rounds fill the empty gold beside the center, add brilliance when your hand turns, and make the ring look finished from every angle, including the side profile people actually see across a table. Choose the solitaire if you love restraint; choose this if the solitaire feels a touch bare to you.
Are the points safe on a stone this long?
The two tips are the weak spot of every marquise, and a 13mm stone carries more leverage on them than a smaller one. That is why each of your points sits under its own prong rather than beside it, so the sharpest edges on the stone are covered by gold instead of exposed to a doorframe or a car door. Under the head there is a second gallery rail, an extra band of metal beneath the basket that carries the weight of a 2ct center and keeps the prongs from flexing over years of wear. If your work is hard on your hands, tell me before I start and I will build V-prongs over both tips instead.
Why D–F color and VS+ clarity matter more on a marquise
Elongated shapes concentrate body color at their ends, and a 13mm marquise has two long tapers for it to gather in. A warmer grade that would disappear in a round shows up as yellow at both tips here. Holding to D–F keeps your points as white as your center. Every marquise also has a bow-tie, a darker band across the middle that no lab report records, so I inspect each stone face-up at the bench before it goes anywhere near your setting, and at two carats I reject more than I keep.
Which wedding band fits a marquise three-stone?
A contoured band. A straight band leaves a visible gap where your center's point and the side stones cross it, and the second gallery under the head stops it from sitting flush. A curved band clears both and nests against the ring cleanly. Since I make both to order, ask and I will cut them as a matched pair, or start from the plain contour band or the pavé contour band.
Want a different size or shape?
The same three-stone design runs at 1ct with round sides for a slimmer 10mm center. For the same weight with a hidden sparkle underneath, see the 2ct marquise hidden halo. Prefer pear side stones? The marquise and pear three-stone takes the shape in a softer direction. Browse every three-stone engagement ring or every marquise engagement ring in the catalog.

I do. One bench, one pair of hands, in a workshop in Woodside, Queens. Nothing here sits in a case waiting for a buyer: your ring is cast, set and finished after you order it, built to your finger rather than sized down to it.
