Why bezel on this shape

The emerald cut is a step cut, so it shows clarity rather than scatter — and a bezel gives that flat, glassy table a clean frame instead of four prongs breaking the outline. It also sits low, which matters day to day: nothing catches on clothing, and the corners of the stone are protected by metal rather than exposed.

Finish notes

A bezel is unforgiving. The gold edge sits directly against the stone all the way round, so any wobble in the line reads immediately. This one is hand-finished to a mirror edge after setting, not before.
